Published 17 August 2026. Independent application-support guidance from Schengen Partners. Not an official visa authority.
The timeline you cannot control — and the one you can
Every applicant asks how long a Schengen visa takes. The honest answer has two parts. After submission, only the consulate or visa centre controls the clock. Before submission, you control whether the file is complete, consistent and ready.
Applicants who rush to secure an appointment before the documents are ready often lose more time than those who prepare first and book second.
What published processing times usually mean
Schengen rules often cite 15 calendar days as the standard decision period from submission. That is a guideline, not a promise. Authorities may extend to 30 or 45 days when they need additional checks, during peak travel seasons, or when the case is complex.
Factors that commonly lengthen processing:
- High application volume at the visa centre
- Requests for additional documents after submission
- Security or verification checks beyond routine review
- First-time applicants or cases with previous refusals
- Holiday closures in the destination country or at the centre
None of these are solved by paying a preparation service for “expedited” handling — no honest service can offer that.
Where applicants lose weeks unnecessarily
- Booking an appointment, then scrambling for missing sponsor papers
- Submitting a cover letter that triggers questions about funding
- Discovering insurance dates do not cover the full trip
- Revising the itinerary after bookings were already made
- Reapplying after refusal without rebuilding the file
Schengen Partners front-loads this work: checklist, written cover letter and itinerary, document review, and a final consistency pass before you walk into the visa centre.
A practical order that saves time
- Request a preliminary assessment with destination, dates and basic circumstances
- Open your case and complete the questionnaire
- Upload documents when the service begins
- Receive checklist, cover letter, itinerary and review
- Book your appointment and submit with a file you trust

What we do for you, and where our role ends
Schengen Partners works beside the applicant and sponsor as an independent preparation partner. Each pair below starts with the practical work we do on a case, and names the boundary it sits inside.
The partnership in one sentence. You bring the true facts and whatever evidence exists; we turn them into an application that is organised, consistent and clearly explained, and prepare you for every stage of sending it. The gold panels are the work you are paying for. The decision itself belongs to the authority.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Professional application preparation
We can analyse the case, explain published requirements, organise the application package, identify missing or inconsistent evidence, and help present the applicant’s genuine circumstances clearly for assessment by the competent authority.
Outside our role or control
Government authority and visa decision
We are not an embassy, consulate, visa application centre, government department or official portal. We are not affiliated with the Government of the Netherlands, the European Union, VFS Global or any other immigration authority. We cannot issue or approve visas.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Practical preparation within our scope
We can explain publicly available requirements, provide document-preparation guidance, draft factual supporting statements, identify issues that may require legal advice, and recommend that the customer consult a qualified professional where the matter falls outside our role.
Outside our role or control
Legal representation and immigration law
We are not an immigration law firm and do not act as lawyers, legal representatives or regulated immigration advisers. We cannot provide legal representation, conduct an appeal as legal counsel or make an official eligibility determination.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Travel-document and purchasing assistance
Where included in the agreed service, we can prepare a realistic itinerary, help the customer identify a genuine and verifiable temporary reservation or booking hold where permitted, check that travel records match the proposed dates, explain published Schengen insurance requirements, help compare suitable policies, and assist while the customer purchases directly from the selected provider.
Outside our role or control
Flights, accommodation and travel insurance
We are not a travel agency, airline, hotel, accommodation provider or insurer. We do not issue tickets or insurance policies and cannot control availability, prices, refunds or provider terms.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Appointment preparation and guidance
We can identify the appropriate published application channel, guide or assist the customer through the normal booking process where agreed, explain what information should be ready, help avoid preventable booking mistakes, and prepare the document package for the selected appointment.
Outside our role or control
Application appointments and processing time
We cannot create preferential appointment availability, bypass an official booking system, accelerate government processing or control when appointments are released.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Submission and interview readiness
We can organise the submission file, prepare a final appointment checklist, check that the expected originals and copies are ready, develop likely questions based on the case, and help the applicant practise truthful answers that remain consistent with the written application.
Outside our role or control
Submission, biometrics and official interview
We cannot replace the applicant where personal attendance is required, provide biometrics, sign declarations for the applicant or answer official interview questions on the applicant’s behalf.
What Schengen Partners can do for you
Truthful alternative-evidence planning
We can identify legitimate alternative evidence when a conventional document is unavailable, explain how several genuine records may support one fact, draft accurate explanatory letters, and check for contradictions, missing pages, unclear dates and unsupported claims.
Outside our role or control
Evidence and supporting documents
We cannot manufacture eligibility, create or alter evidence, conceal relevant facts or advise anyone to make an untrue statement.
What Schengen Partners can do for you

What Schengen Partners can do for you
A structured preparation partnership
We can provide a preparation plan, explain what remains outstanding, review agreed final drafts, remind the applicant and sponsor of important responsibilities, and remain a practical preparation partner throughout the purchased service period.
Outside our role or control
Applicant and sponsor responsibilities
We cannot accept responsibility for undisclosed facts, inaccurate information supplied to us, third-party document authenticity, official fees, missed appointments or decisions made by authorities and commercial providers.
